Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Kft., 2nd phase, Maklár

Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Kft. was known earlier as ZF Lenksysteme Hungária Kft. The company was split 50-50% between Robert Bosch GmbH and ZF Friedrichshafen AG. In the fall of 2014, Bosch acquired the entire ZF Lenksysteme, which was incorporated into the Bosch Group under the name Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH as a new business branch and an independent company. As an automotive supplier, it supplies steering gear, steering columns, steering axles and remanufactured parts to more than 100 vehicle manufacturers worldwide, including passenger cars, trucks and buses.

In 2014, as phase I of the constructions, we developed a complex building automation system for the building engineering installed in the newly built Maklar factory. In 2016, as part of Bosch's ongoing investments in Hungary, new capacity expansion was planned at the Maclar plant as phase II of the project. The mechanical components installed during the expansion were connected at several points to the existing systems.

Our assignment:

The customer's request during phase II was to integrate the new elements installed during the expansion in a way that does not, in any way, interfere with the production processes. Similarly to phase I, our tasks included the design, manufacture and on-site installation of building automation and power distribution boards as well as the delivery, installation and commissioning of building automation peripherals. We were also responsible for software installation forautomation station, connecting HMI touch panels and other engineering systems to building monitoring via BUS communication.

In phase II, we added approximately 500 data points to the systems.

Implementation:

Since in addition to manufacturing new distribution boards and systems phase II also included the expansion of existing elements, we used the same type of SIEMENS products as in phase I for manufacturing the distribution boards. The Customer had the same request for PLC hardware elements as well. In this case, the system was expanded with the S7-300 product family.
