Opel, Szentgotthárd

Name of project:

In addition to its existing factory, Opel built a flexible new engine factory in Szentgotthárd. The 500 million EUR 60,000 square meter plant will be one of the world's leading engine factories. The production machinery of 270-unit will provide work for 800 people. Large-scale production will start at the end of the year.

We are delighted that our company is involved in the Szentgotthárd investment, since we have been working with the customer, IMTECH Kft., on several projects. Our company was asked to provide ventilation for the Opel H16-H17 halls in Szentgotthárd by automating the HVAC system installed in the loft.

We had the following technical tasks:

The HVAC system of the H16-H17 hall needed to be automated. The hall was supplied by 6 independent, but completely identical HVAC systems.

Implementation:

The control of HVAC units was solved through the pressure regulation of supply and exhaust fans, the pre-treatment of the rotary heat recovery temperature and the control of the gas burner. The system also regulates the volume of air, taking into account technological exhausts, ensuring ideal air conditions for the entire hall.

Number of data points: 318 pcs (53 pc/system)

Each center includes a Siemens PXC 100D type DDC controller and a PXM10 operating unit.

The particularity of the system is in the fact that, at Opel's request, there is no central building monitoring but all 6 air handling units operate completely independently, meaning that they can be controlled and set by separate local operator terminals.
