to develop a complex, fully-fledged building automation system for building engineering equipment installed in the factory. Already in the design phase, the task required more planning than “usual”, because there was an extremely high number of devices installed by third parties that we needed to integrate into the system and adapt with the appropriate BUS protocols .
Distribution boards and peripherals:
Rittal board systems were installed. At the request of the customer, SIEMENS products were used for the high and low current circuits within the distribution equipment. In respect of PLC hardware, we also used SIEMENS equipment (S7-300 family of products), including the power supply, communication interfaces, mounting rails, memory modules and the necessary input and output modules.
In the spirit of "German quality”, the peripheral elements are also designed with S+S type devices. Cabling works was carried out by subcontractors of the customer. The final execution of this work phase required extra attention, preparation and flexibility.
Higher-than-usual dimensions were used for ventilation and hydraulic engineering solutions. For this reason, prudent equipment placement and installation techniques were necessary.
Software:
Our software-related tasks included the programming of automation station’s software, HMI Touch panels and other engineering components connected with BUS communication channels. The programming of SCADA (building monitoring) was not performed by Elszöv-Automatika Kft. Therefore, we needed to work closely with the German affiliate writing the monitoring program, which was a difficult task. The project contained approximately 1400 different digital and analogue data points.
Implementation:
All in all, we believe that we succeeded in creating a highly functional building, to the satisfaction of the customer and the end user.
